My African Dream by Clerence

I smile, I laugh
Joy throbs in my heart
When I envision dreams
I see them coming to pass
Yes, I am African
The one they think can't achieve
The one they think can't dream
Under this cocoa brown hue
Under this kinky hair
Lies great potential
Like a bird encaged
This day I will let it out
Then I will spread my wings
and soar over my limitations
This day I will say
I no longer dream
No, I am past that
This day I will say,
I have ACHIEVED
